  • Overview

    Responsible for site facilities engineering in a major manufacturing plant, including management/coordination of external engineering resources,(contractors and suppliers) preparation of bid packages, design reviews, project management and compliance with local/state/federal codes and regulations

    Responsibilities

    • This is a hands-on job. Person will be required to work on assigned projects to completion.
    • Provides facility support to the oxide, metals, pasting, assembly, formation and distribution center as required.
    • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors.
    • Provides overall project management of new installations and upgrades of existing systems, including building and grounds using Capital Expenditure procedures.
    • Participate in original design and upgrades of control systems and operating process equipment such as pumps, HVAC, air compressors, cooling towers, emissions control equipment, etc.
    • Provide basic internal engineering for electrical, pneumatic and mechanical system applications.
    • Assist in the expedient repair of facility-wide failures and the effective maintenance of electrical, chillers, boilers, roofing, fire suppression systems, plant alarm systems and compressed air equipment to prevent failure and minimize downtime.
    • Ensures all work is done safely, on time, with high quality results, cost effective and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
    • Prepares interim and completion project reports
    • Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
    • Comply with all local, state, and Federal OSHA, EPA, and employment laws.
    • Perform other work as assigned by the supervisor or management personnel.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. in a technical discipline from a four year college or university.
    • Minimum of three years directly related Facilities Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with contractual related project/work environment in providing engineering support to electrical and mechanical contractors.
    • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities with pressure deadlines.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software
    • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
