  • Overview

    Provides strategic marketing communications expertise to product managers, market managers, engineering and sales that produce tangible results, provides careful planning, precision execution, and maximum performance that support Exide Technologies’ business plans and growth initiatives in a cost-effective manner. The role will focus on the Transportation business segment and provide direct support to all key stakeholders.  Works closely and collaborate with the entire marketing communications team.


    We are looking for a prolific and talented Marketing and Communications Manager to supervise and drive all day-to-day marketing communications activities and direct the workflow of collateral, creative, advertising and or public relations by assigning job tasks, facilitating interdepartmental communications and managing external agencies. Their expertise allows them to allocate company resources to maximize collaboration, efficiency and creativity in the building and maintenance of consistent branding or corporate identity across marketing and public relations channels. They're also responsible for staying up to date on industry trends.


    This person will also be a content creator to write and produce various types of  content regularly, to expand our company’s footprint, awareness and sales leads. This role requires a high level of creativity, strategic thinking, attention to detail,  writing skills and project management skills. The position reports to the Director of Marketing Communications.


    Essential Skills and Experience

    • Develop and execute strategic communications plans that align with business growth initiatives, financial objectives, and to the industry.
    • Provide strategic value to the organization to allow for concise and compelling communication of a value propositions.
    • Position yourself as a “thought partner” to the leaders of the product segments in order to create market differentiation and value creation.
    • Manage all marketing communication activities for assigned segment. Marketing communications activities to include: product launches, integrated campaigns, trade show strategy and content, advertising, public relations, press releases, direct marketing, web content, sales support, and customer collateral and multi-media activity.
    • Analyze market research to better understand our customers’ needs, competitor landscape and market segment trends, in order to better communicate our key differentiated messages.
    • Execute and analyze marketing communications programs to ensure effectiveness. Provide metrics to determine effectiveness and recommendations for improvement.
    • Conduct field visits to get better acquainted with Customers and sales force.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to interact with all levels of internal clients, customers and external vendors.
    • Ability to develop messaging that resonates with key customers and guides our sales teams in making the appropriate, application-based recommendations.
    • Demonstrated effective use of creative and innovative skills.
    • Self-directed problem solver & accomplished “doer”.
    • Exceptional project management skills.  Adept at managing high volume, complexity, fluidity and ambiguity while maintaining professional poise and delivering on commitments.
    • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize work, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines while maintaining flexibility to re-assess and re-prioritize.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, and Communications, Advertising or equivalent work experience with at least 6-10 years of experience.
    • Strong analytical capabilities including media optimization, analytics and measurement experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to communicate technical concepts in a way that a non-technical person would understand, including working with Product Marketing.
    • Ability to multitask, deal with ambiguity, shift focus and priorities quickly, and work both independently and as part of a team .
    • Previous experience required in a fast-paced environment, ideally having cooperation with cross functional departments like Product, Procurement, Engineering, Marketing and Sales Departments.
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Domestic travel up to 25% of the time
