    Great opportunity for a go getter and enthusiastic sales professional looking to expand their career within a Global organization! We are seeking an experienced national New Business Development Manager to join our team that can hit the ground running. You will be responsible for building, supporting and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts to achieve Exide’s business goals. You will also work in partnership with our regional sales teams to increase Exide’s sales and profitability.


    The New Business Development Manager will be accomplished in value selling and able to intelligently compare motive power solutions to guide customers to make the best decisions. Moreover, you will be able to lead teams of applications engineers and sales professionals to gather and analyze the data necessary to create these comparisons using systems modeling software. 


    As a New Business Development Manager, you should be organized, able to analyze sales performance metrics, have good negotiation skills and the ability to build and foster long-term relationships with customers.


    This position is home office based and requires 35% travel per business needs. You may be assigned some customers, but ultimately will be responsible for developing new accounts by working with the Exide sales team or on new opportunities of your own.

    Other responsibilities include:

    • Prospect, identify, qualify, characterize, target and support new and existing Motive Power accounts.
    • Develop, implement and support strategies which enables Exide to pursue customers with a unified total solutions program.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for field sales & GNB management on all information surrounding GNB Advisor and advancement of power studies and modeling activity to advance our position with new and existing accounts.
    • Coordinate sales visits, resolve issues, and communicate information related to GNB Advisor sales solution.
    • Help establish, monitor adherence, track, train, communicate and manage procedures to increase modeling activity and accuracy.
    • Help tailor products and programs to the needs of the customer.
    • Actively assist in controlling working capital, including overdue accounts receivables.
    • Operate within an acceptable sales-to-expense ratio and follow all defined company expense policies. 
    • Advise and participate in the development of national sales tools and training.
    • Complete projects and submit all required reports in a timely fashion.

    Perform additional tasks and functions as determined by the Senior Director of Sales; examples include, but are not limited to, representing GNB/Exide at trade shows, helping train sales managers, and presenting at sales meetings.


    Business Management:

    • Creates, implements, measures and reviews an individual plan that drives achievement of performance goals aligned to the Regional sales strategy
    • Negotiate and close complex enterprise contracts with global partners and customers
    • Reports on sales activity and forecasts to senior management
    • Prepares indicative subscription pricing and customer offers, including reviewing broader opportunities such as training and professional services modules, and leads Request for Proposal responses
    • Identifies and pursues opportunities to expand business activities within areas of responsibility
    • Plans and controls the expense associated with area of responsibility even if not responsible for overall cost center
    • Establishes working relationships with external parties which support the achievement of business goals
    • Complies with all relevant systems and procedures


    People Management:

    • Provides customer feedback to marketing, customer success, product management and engineering teams
    • Coaches/mentors team members as requested by leadership 


    Resource Management:

    • Accurately forecasts and achieves sales targets
    • Identifies and allocates appropriate resources to opportunities
    • Works collaboratively to acquire additional/specialist resources as required, including legal, finance and other support functions.



    Customer Management:

    • Has established sector-related C level contacts in large Enterprise customers
    • Builds relationships with customers (internal or external) as necessary – previous executive engagement and network is essential to the success of this role



    • Expertise in technology sales and account management
    • Results oriented with multiple years meeting or exceeding quota
    • Experience working in a US global matrixed organization
    • Good interpersonal skills to align and foster positive working relationships across the organization

    Experience, Certifications:

    • Five (5) years of previous Major Accounts Selling and a minimum one (1) year capital equipment sales required.

    • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills
    • Outstanding track record of influencing decision and making a positive impact

    • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet

          Travel, other requirements:

    • Estimated overnight travel for the position is 35%.
