Overview

The National Accounts Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase sales, maximize profits and develop solutions at select Motive Power national accounts for all customer business units

  • Prospect, identify, qualify, characterize and target accounts fitting the national account profile.
  • Develop strategies which enable Exide MP to pursue national customers with unified sales and service program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field sales and GNB management on all information surrounding assigned accounts. 
  • Coordinate sales visits, resolve issues, and communicate information regarding assigned national accounts.
  • Establish, monitor adherence, track, communicate and manage National Accounts pricing, contracts and procedures at all identified accounts.
  • Help tailor products and programs to the needs of the customer.
  • Actively assist in controlling working capital, including overdue accounts receivables.
  • Operate within an acceptable sales-to-expense ratio and follow all defined company expense policies. 
  • Forecast and track sales activity for assigned accounts and collect competitive Intell.
  • Advise and participate in the development of national sales tools.
  • Complete projects and submit all required reports in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

         Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • BS Degree in engineering or a related field
  • Five (5) years of previous Major Accounts Selling and a minimum one (1) year capital equipment sales required. 

         Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Well-developed sales management skills
  • Outstanding track record of influencing decision and making a positive impact
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet

      Travel, other requirements:

  • Estimated overnight travel for the position is 50%.
