Overview

The Solutions Analyst is accountable for proactively and holistically leading and or supporting enterprise application activities that align the Exide HRIS portfolio of applications and Information Technology services with the established People Systems domain Application Architecture.

Solutions Analyst provides the necessary leadership, analysis, and design tasks related to the development of application and service solutions. The individual creates deliverables that further align the direction of HRIS with the "to be" architecture:  including applications, systems, processes, shared infrastructure services, and shared application services and components.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and lead the implementation of solutions across scope of People Systems based on enterprise application architecture, business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
  • Continuously manage and develop the People Systems architecture for a broader scope of projects.
  • Provide consulting support to other Solutions Analyst within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Consult with application and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
  • Identify the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
  • Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Work closely with the program management office (PMO) or project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised.
  • Support configurations within the HRMS system, including working understanding of security profile framework, job catalogue, and work unit hierarchy.
  • Perform HRIS application troubleshooting and support for members of the global HR team, escalating issues to internal and / or external technical resources when necessary.
  • Perform other integration and applications work as assigned by the Director.

  • Four to six years of experience in an HRIS-focused role including application development and or solution development/delivery
  • Previous experience dealing with configurations and confidential data within a global HRMS system (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP)
  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and prioritize critical tasks

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Organizationally savvy, with a good understanding of the enterprise's political climate and how to navigate, influence and persuade political waters
  • Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements
  • Solution Configuration: Ability to provide advice and develop a detailed design and configuration to support new business processes and procedures. Knowledge of one or more modules in an HRIS or other Packaged Software Solution
  • Ability to propose and estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives
  • Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems
  • Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong project and time management skills; able to manage workload efficiently to fulfill commitments in a timely manner; must be flexible to work within fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Conceptual; ability to go beyond details and see the big picture
  • Problem solver; able to identify and solve challenging problems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills with high level of attention to details and accuracy including pivot tables and VLOOKUP up functionality
  • Strong Microsoft Access skills including the building of basic databases and queries
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL script interpretation and writing
  • Ability to perform data analysis for the purposes of troubleshooting, specification development, and solution testing

Travel, other requirements

  • May be occasionally required to travel to other Exide locations. Travel not expected to exceed 10%.
