This position will schedule production priorities for all manufacturing departments to enable an efficient running factory that ensures customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for requisitioning the appropriate materials required for the plant and distribution center. Position is responsible for ensuring material delivery schedules meet in-house build schedule while maintaining minimum inventory levels. The incumbent works within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
Maintain shop floor production control.
Schedule the manufacturing process for each department.
Review and maintain proper bill of materials specification records for shop floor and usage variance control as provided by corporate.
Review daily production and variance reporting.
Evaluate production capability to projected demand.
Forecast and requisition appropriate raw materials for the D.C. and manufacturing processes.
Assure materials are delivered on time to meet production requirements and shipping needs.
Keep accurate inventory records to prevent inventory variances and maintain control of inventory levels within established benchmarks.
Review raw material inventory and analyze usage to prevent material obsolescence.
Develop and document procedures within TS16949 guidelines.
Maintain proper product identification and traceability for raw material, work-in-process, and finished materials.
Maximize inventory control techniques for efficient operation with minimum investment.
Supervise materials and receiving personnel to ensure maximum departmental efficiency.
Develop vendor relationships to ensure preferred customer service.
Maintain set-up parameters for each SKU to enable proper daily MRP execution.
Continually collect and analyze data to improve the overall effectiveness of the department and the performance of the Manchester facility.
Develop, analyze, and implement short and long term strategies to meet facility goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES. Supervise non-exempt Material Control Clerk and Warehouse Supervisor. Provide guidance to others performing the same type of work. Plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day workflow and activities of assigned employees. Review completed assignments for quality and accuracy. Evaluate the performance of subordinates; recommend salary/title changes, as well as hire/fire actions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Position requires inventory control or accounting background with MRP, analytical, coordinating, and supervisory skills. Prefer two year accounting degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment with understanding of machine production capacities, purchasing, and vendor constraints. Experience with standard cost accounting as it relates to bills of materials.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply the basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PC SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE Possess knowledge of personal computers with working knowledge of MS Word, and spreadsheet software such as Excel, including skills with multiple data base management, with query and macro creation ability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS. Physical demands include hearing, speaking, seeing, writing, standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting of 50#, simple grasping, pulling, pushing, twisting, and repetitive use of hands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Normal office environment and less frequent exposure to lead, fumes, noise, dirt, hazards, chemicals, extreme heat, extreme cold.
