Overview

We're growing!  Starting pay is $18.19 per hour plus shift differentials!  Immediate needs on 2nd and 3rd shifts!

 

Formation Operator is to operate and monitor the machinery and equipment used to form batteries. This could include any or all of the following: Loading batteries onto the conveyor and operating the In-Line Filler, grouping and cabling batteries for charging, operating Out-Line Top-off Acid Equipment, operating Hi-rate equipment, and off-loading filled, charged batteries.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate in simple English.
  • Must cable/re-cable batteries on tables, place cables on ends, and remove forming vent caps from batteries.
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Must comply with quality control specifications and maintain accurate and time SPC charts.
  • Required to assist in department or plant cleaning as needed.
  • Must comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and coworkers. This includes shower and shampoo at the completion of each work shift.
  • Must satisfy attendance requirements as written in company policy.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Comply with current Quality Systems Requirements.
  • Perform other work as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Continuous standing, walking and bending for 8 hour shifts. Repetitious work.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes, etc. as outlined in established policy.
  • Will be continually exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, humid, and cold).
  • Repetitious lifting of batteries.

Education, Experience, Skills Required

  • Mechanical skills preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or related experience a plus
  • High School degree preferred; National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) Bronze preferred
