Overview

The Product Marketing Manager, Lithium will be responsible for managing a new Lithium battery product family and advanced offers for targeted market segments in the Americas.   This includes setting the overall direction for the Lithium product lineup, seeking alignment with the Sales and Business Development teams, Engineering, Operations and other key departments to meet the objectives of the Industrial business.  This position will also work in concert with European colleagues for a global product offering, common manufacturing process and product service and support.  Ensuring cross-functional interactions occur internally and supporting customer needs externally will be critical to the role.  Providing leadership on product portfolio, communications, distribution, related services, and overall life cycle management are also key facets of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Lithium lead for the Industrial business units in the Americas, taking marketing leadership of new product innovation while supporting our evolving product lineup with strategic tools and advanced offers to grow the business 
  • Develop and support the strategic plan for these segments and coordinate with the Director of Marketing for the business unit to create business unit plan
  • Act as primary contact for the European lithium team regarding definition, development and delivery of global lithium portfolio of products and services
  • Prepare and present regular reporting to Americas Leadership team (CEO, President, and staff) regarding progress in achieving strategic goals and annual Sales
  • Serve as lithium subject matter expert for Exide US with respect to technology trends, products and service development and product applications that meet customer needs
  • Develop and manage execution of a periodic global competitor assessment with respect to lithium competition. Build offensive and defensive strategies based on conclusions drawn
  • Act as main liaison between our Sales team and engineering, quality, and manufacturing to ensure development of winning products and services. Have the ability to articulate technical details into applicable sales savvy materials with the Marketing Communications team
  • Responsible for milestone passage of products and services and successful launches under challenging timelines 
  • Portfolio management to include SKU additions and lifecycle monitoring for phase out
  • Recommend ongoing actions to improve business results to achieve quarterly and annual targets. This includes advertising, sales training, customer training, programs, promotions and campaigns
  • Provides sales support by attending conventions, trade shows, meetings and seminars or making sales calls 

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • College degree, MBA preferred
  • At least 12 years of experience working in marketing and/or sales.
  • 5 years in Marketing, technical marketing skills a plus
  • Automotive, Lithium, Material Handling or Energy Storage background preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in creating business cases and executing product development plans that have resulted in profitable growth.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership.

Travel, other requirements:

  • Self starter that is self-motivated and committed to team and company objectives.
  • Team player with agility and adaptability with the willingness to change the status quo as strategies of our business evolve Entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Travel up to 25% will be required including International travel.
