This position is responsible for selling Exide and GNB battery brand products and chargers, and, developing new battery opportunities within the US Government Departments having Agencies of primary interest, such as: Department of Energy, Dept of Homeland Security, Dept of Interior, Dept of Transportation, Dept of Commerce and, Independent Establishments and Government Corporations such as the US Postal Service and NASA. Also, attention must be given to the Department of Defense military markets.

  • Work directly with end-customers and through Sales Representatives to establish new business opportunities for Exide and GNB brand products. Create new applications and markets for battery products.
  • Develop proactive relationships with key customers to clearly understand their expectations and product needs. Leverage these relationships to become a key supplier.
  • Develop reports and measures to inform management on sales performance and growth potentials within markets.
  • Develop and introduce new sales tools serving the Government markets identified.
  • Visit with customers and perform presentations on products.
  • Coordinate activities to provide quick sales responses to customer’s needs and sales inquiries.
  • Plan and participate at conferences, trade shows and sales meetings.
  • Identify requirements and expectations of our Sales Representatives with major customers to increase sales within the Departments having Agencies of primary interest and OEM manufactures selling directly to the US Government.



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • B.S. Degree in engineering, business or science required.
  • Minimum of 5 plus years proven track record in sales and marketing.
  • A desire to interface directly with customers.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications
